Alverno Alumnae Art Exhibit

I just got word that the two pieces of artwork (see below) that I submitted for the Alumnae Exhibit were accepted. The exhibit opens on October 5, and will run through October.
Stop by if you can!

This Advent/Christmas silk-screened tissue banner expresses joy and thanksgiving that the Lord is at hand — and these are my feelings also about my experience at Alverno, which God was very much in: it was a journey of growth and discovery that challenged me and changed my teaching practice—and me!

THE PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS
The prayer of St. Francis expresses the desire to be a giving person, showing forth God’s love, thus the background image of someone with outstretched arms. At Alverno, I experienced the life-changing power of caring, positive feedback and encouragement which caused me to grow, changing my teaching practice and me!

A busy summer!

Summer was full of visitors--both family and friends--and travel (North Carolina/Blue Ridge Mountains, Peru and Cape Ann, MA)...and little artwork action except for exhibiting at the Symposium at Cardinal Stritch on August 16, right after we returned from 2 weeks in Peru!

Our trip to Peru was with a group from our parish--it was such a blessing to visit Fr. Alex's mission at Alto Cayma outside of Arequipa! We also enjoyed being able to visit the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, and soak in the color, sounds, views, etc. And my week with college roommates by the seaside in Gloucester was another blessing :) Now it's back to life in Milwaukee!

Life in the "meantime"

I am beginning to look at my conference schedule--right now, I am exhibiting at the National Association of Catholic Chaplains in Milwaukee in May, the Stritch Symposium in Milwaukee in August, the Charismatic Conference in Green Lake in September, and possibly the Chicago Catechetical Conference in November. Call to Action will not be in Milwaukee this year--and I will probably not be there, fo the first time in many years! Check my website for dates, and more information: www.magnifythelordartwork.com
