2019 has come so quickly!

We have had some wonderful opportunities to travel in recent years: to Israel, and to South America (Brazil, Argentina and Chile, and around Cape Horn :) Times to experience God's magnificent creation...less times to create.  But I am grateful for the challenging commission to create artwork for Fr. Terry Johnson's 25th anniversary of his ordination incorporating the Orion Nebula and this quote from Dorothy Day: "The greatest challenge of our day is how to bring about a revolution of the heart--a revolution which has to start with each one of us..."

We've had an exhibit in Green Bay, others coming soon in Milwaukee, and we are looking forward to being at the Women of Christ Conference in West Bend again this November. We'd love to see you and/or hear from you!

A challenging year!

This has been a challenging year for me. In February, I broke my right wrist and it was a bad break. I had surgery Feb 10, and basically was out of commission til mid May. Unfortunately, I tripped up a step and fell into a wall on Memorial Day weekend, breaking my left wrist...which put me in a cast until mid July. Family came to visit over the 4th of July, and right after they left, our basement flooded, including my silk-screening printing area. It has been a huge process to get things moved out of it so it could be sanitized; slowly the many boxes, etc. have been gradually coming back in-- but we are finally about to see the end of it. I have also been sick.

However, I am hoping to be set up to print soon! I do plan to exhibit at the Woman of Faith Day Nov. 4, though I have not been able to do many new prints. Stop by if you are there--it's an inspiring day.

WOW! It's been a while since I last posted--sorry!

Even though this blog has not been updated recently, Magnify the Lord Artwork continues to create and exhibit, with the mission of touching hearts and encouraging those we can!

Our tissue Advent/Christmas banner for 2015 was inspired by thinking of many of the qualities that the light of God brings into our lives.

We have had our first exhibit for 2016, at the National Association for Catholic Chaplains Conference April 22-24 in Chicago. Wonderful to meet so many people who are touching lives.

We have a rather full exhibit season in the works, so we hope we will see you during the year.

FALL EXHIBITING

We had a succesful exhibit at the Chicago Cateehetical Conference in Drury Lane last week, though the limited time for setting up and dismantling presented its challenges. Thanks to all who stopped by and especially to those who found artwork to purchase. May it be a blessing to you!

Next  up:
We will be at the Green Bay Diocese Leadership Convocation and the Wisconsin Directors of Religious Education Biennial Conference in the upcoming weeks, and also at a Gallery Night at the Siena Retreat Center. Contact me if you want more information.

Also, I will be bringing a number of prints to the Art*Bar for its annual "mini" exhibit in November and December. It's quite a show--walls are covered with pieces of art that are 8"x8" or smaller and under $100! Stop by and enjoy :)

We are looking forward to meeting those who find us at any of these venues!

    UPCOMING EXHIBITS

We have had a busy fall and winter, and are beginning to work out our exhibit schedule for 2013...stay tuned!!
One venue we know about is the Wisconsin United Methodist Conference in Madison June 7-9. We really enjoyed being there last year and are looking forward to being there this year too. If you will be there, stop by our exhibit! (Unfortunately, the Northern Illinois conference is not having outside exhibitors this year, so we will not be able to exhibit there.)

    Alverno Alumnae Art Exhibit

I just got word that the two pieces of artwork (see below) that I submitted for the Alumnae Exhibit were accepted. The exhibit opens on October 5, and will run through October.
    Stop by if you can!

This Advent/Christmas silk-screened tissue banner expresses joy and thanksgiving that the Lord is at hand — and these are my feelings also about my experience at Alverno, which God was very much in: it was a journey of growth and discovery that challenged me and changed my teaching practice—and me!

    THE PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS
The prayer of St. Francis expresses the desire to be a giving person, showing forth God’s love, thus the background image of someone with outstretched arms. At Alverno, I experienced the life-changing power of caring, positive feedback and encouragement which caused me to grow, changing my teaching practice and me!

    A busy summer!

Summer was full of visitors--both family and friends--and travel (North Carolina/Blue Ridge Mountains, Peru and Cape Ann, MA)...and little artwork action except for exhibiting at the Symposium at Cardinal Stritch on August 16, right after we returned from 2 weeks in Peru!

Our trip to Peru was with a group from our parish--it was such a blessing to visit Fr. Alex's mission at Alto Cayma outside of Arequipa! We also enjoyed being able to visit the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu, and soak in the color, sounds, views, etc. And my week with college roommates by the seaside in Gloucester was another blessing :) Now it's back to life in Milwaukee!
